Holy Roman Emperor Colt Battles For Maiden Win
Strozzi (2c Holy Roman Emperor - Soprano, by Cadeaux Genereux) displayed a game attitude when rallying to win Tuesday’s seven furlong maiden at Chepstow.
Drawn wide, Andrew Balding’s charge broke well to chase the leaders and was pushed along to lead approaching the final furlong. Ridden when challenged, the bay dug deep to win by a head under David Probert, the front pair drawing two and a half lengths clear of the third horse.
Owned by Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum, Strozzi was bred by Gestut Gorlsdorf out of their homebred black-type performer Soprana.
