Holy Roman Emperor Colt Not For Catching At Leopardstown
Montesilvano (2c Holy Roman Emperor - Delicate Charm, by High Chaparral) shaped like a smart prospect when making all to win Thursday’s seven furlong maiden at Leopardstown.
The Joseph O’Brien-trained bay appeared to enjoy the better ground on his second start, as he kept on strongly approaching the final furlong. Ridden out, the bay scored by three parts of a length under Shane Crosse, as the well-supported Queen Maedbh (Gleneagles) shaped with great promise in second.
Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “Montesilvano looks a nice horse going forward. He missed the break at Roscommon first time out and it was game over very quickly but he was much better today. He has some options going forward.”
Owned by Mrs O’Brien and bred by Whisperview Trading, the son of Holy Roman Emperor is a full-brother to last month's Group 2 winner Numerian (Holy Roman Emperor).
