Holy Roman Emperor Colt Strides Clear At Naas
The consistent Thunder Eclipse (2c Holy Roman Emperor - Emirate Jewel, by Pivotal) enjoyed a change of luck on Sunday when getting off the mark in fine style at Naas.
The Fozzy Stack-trained colt had been placed behind some smart types on four of his five previous starts, which saw him sent off favourite for the six furlong maiden. Tracking the leaders under Chris Hayes, the bay was shaken up to lead approaching the final furlong and ran on strongly to score by five lengths.
Hayes later mentioned the Birdcatcher as a possible target for Iman Hartono’s homebred winner. The son of Holy Roman Emperor is a full-brother to dual winner Blossom Promise (Holy Roman Emperor).
