Holy Roman Emperor Colt Tops NZB Ready To Run Day One
A colt by Holy Roman Emperor was the top priced offering during the first session of the NZB Ready to Run Sale at Karaka in New Zealand on Tuesday when fetching $320,000.
Consigned by Lyndhurst Farm, the star colt from Rule the Waves was bought by Sydney based bloodstock agent Anton Koolman on behalf of Hong Kong based Fraternity Thoroughbreds.
"I’m not a committed breeze up sale guy and I haven’t bought here for a while but we have found a few we like,” commented Anton Koolman.
"I liked his type and Holy Roman Emperor is going well in Hong Kong and Singapore so, although he was a lot of money, we wanted him and were prepared for that. He’ll go to Australia and then on to Hong Kong to be trained by Paul O’Sullivan.”
Holy Roman Emperor featured at Sha Tin on Sunday when his talented sprinter Charles the Great (5g Holy Roman Emperor x Jojeema, by Barathea) scored another feature win when taking out the Jockey Club Sprint HK Gr 2.
The colt from Rule the Waves proved an incredibly successful pinhook for Lyndhurst Farm, who purchased him in Australia earlier this year at the Inglis Vobis Gold Sale for just $36,000.
