Holy Roman Emperor Filly Builds On Promising Debut
The Andrea Marcialis-trained Mystic Monarch (2f Holy Roman Emperor - Western Mystic, by Doyen) built on a promising debut to win the Prix Camille Saint-Saens at Dieppe on Tuesday.
Beaten just a length and a half into third first time out at Chantilly last month, she stepped up in trip slightly to five and a half furlongs and was reunited with Cristian Demuro. She tracked the leader from stall five, asserting with ease two furlongs out and kept on well under pressure to hold off Alocasia by half a length, with another length and a quarter back to Miss Tiche (Ivawood) in third.
Owned by Montgomery Motto and bred by Randolf Peters, Mystic Monarch was bought by her trainer for €50,000 at Arqana as a yearling. Her dam was Listed-placed on a number of occasions.
