Piece Of Paradise Becomes Latest Stakes Winner By Holy Roman Emperor

Holy Roman Emperor Filly Delivers At Listed Level

The Fozzy Stack-trained Piece Of Paradise (2f Holy Roman Emperor - Double Fantasy, by Indian Ridge) led home a 1-2-3 for Irish raiders in Friday’s Listed Harry Rosebery Stakes at Ayr.

A Tipperary maiden winner in August, she was last seen finishing fourth to the impressive Mum’s Tipple (Footstepsinthesand) at York. Chris Hayes was back on board, holding the bay up in the field of 12 and made headway from over two furlongs out. Ridden to lead inside the final furlong, she kept on well to beat the favourite Lady Penelope by a length.

Speaking after the race, the winning trainer commented, “She is in the Firth of Clyde here tomorrow and we'll see how she is in the morning.”

Bred by Rockfield Farm, Piece Of Paradise is owned by Mrs John Magnier, Mrs Paul Shanahan and breeder Michael O’Flynn. She is a half-sister to recent Listed winner Magical Dreamer and has a half-brother by No Nay Never selling at next month’s Tattersalls Book 1 Sale.
