Holy Roman Emperor Filly Flies Home In Curragh Maiden
Joyous Moment (3f Holy Roman Emperor - Fancy Intense, by Peintre Celebre) produced a flying finish to win Sunday’s six furlong maiden at the Curragh.
Raced just once as a two-year-old, Brian Dolan’s homebred was well-supported on her three-year-old return and was given a patient ride by Chris Hayes. Making headway from two furlongs out, she ran on strongly inside the final furlong to score by half a length on the line.
Speaking after the race, winning trainer Jack Davison said, “She's tough, she's fast and she'll have a bright future hopefully.” On future plans, he added, “We'll see how she comes out of it and look at the race program. I don't think black-type would be too farfetched to aim at.”
Joyous Moment is a full-sister to True Blue Moon (Holy Roman Emperor), who landed the Listed Rochestown Stakes as a two-year-old.
