Holy Roman Emperor Filly Gains Deserved Stakes Success
Saturday saw Apadanah (4f Holy Roman Emperor - Amazone, by Adlerflug) gain a well-deserved black-type success when taking the Listed Dortmunder St Leger Trial.
Placed in her two previous starts at Listed level, the Bohumil Nedorostek-trained filly also finished fourth in last year’s Group 2 Italian Oaks. Stepping up to a mile and a half on her latest start, she raced towards the back of the field and made good headway in the straight to snatch victory in the shadow of the post.
Owned by Darius Racing and bred by Dr Klaus Schulte, Apadanah was a €180,000 yearling purchase by HFTB Racing Agency. The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor is the first foal out of Amazone, herself a half-sister to dual Stakes winner Amazona and Group performer Ametrin.
