Beechwood Emily (Holy Roman Emperor) Gets Off The Mark at Newcastle

Holy Roman Emperor Filly Rallies To Maiden Success

Beechwood Emily (2f Holy Roman Emperor - Gale Green, by Galileo) displayed a game attitude when digging deep to win at Newcastle on Tuesday evening.

Trained by Keith Dalgleish for Middleham Park Racing, the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor finished third over course and distance of seven furlongs last month. Shane Gray rode the bay in a prominent position, asserting approaching the two furlong marker and kept on well under pressure to hold off Loweswater by half a length on the line.

Beechwood Emily was bred by Dunchurch Lodge Stud Company out of a Galileo half-sister to Salzgitter; herself the dam of five Stakes horses. Preis der Diana winner Anna Paola, 1,000 Guineas heroine Billesdon Brook (Champs Elysees) and Group 1 performer Annus Mirabilis feature further down the page.
