Holy Roman Emperor Filly Sprints Home On Debut
The Kevin Ryan-trained Roman Encounter (2f Holy Roman Emperor - Meeting In Paris, by Dutch Art) created a fine impression on debut when taking Tuesday’s Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Beverley.
Racing over five furlongs, the Hambleton Racing-owned filly was towards the back of the field in the early stages and made headway from two furlongs out. Leading entering the final furlong, she was ridden out to win by a length from Miss Nay Never (No Nay Never).
Roman Encounter becomes the third winner bred by Alan Marsh out of Meeting In Paris, her previous foals including the highly-rated Happy Win Win (Zoffany) and fellow debut winner Never In Paris (No Nay Never).
