Holy Roman Emperor Juvenile Justifies Favouritism
Pearling Path (2c Holy Roman Emperor - Sacrifice My Soul, by Nayef) rewarded strong market support with a commanding victory in Friday’s two-year-old maiden at Fairyhouse.
The John O’Donoghue-trained bay was sent off favourite on his second start and raced prominently throughout the six furlong contest under Gary Halpin. Ridden to lead approaching the final furlong, he was driven out to score by a length and a half.
“We've always liked this guy and it's great to get the box ticked,” O’Donoghue commented after the race. His breeding would indicate he'll get a bit further and we'll just take it in stages with him.”
Owned by Fawzi Abdulla Nass, Pearling Path holds an entry in the Group 2 Railway Stakes next month. An £80,000 yearling purchase, the son of Holy Roman Emperor was bred by Fair Salinia and hails from the family of Poliglote (Sadler’s Wells).
