Holy Roman Emperor Powers To Maiden Success
The George Boughey-trained Bolton Abbey (2c Holy Roman Emperor - In The Lurch, by Mount Nelson) produced an impressive turn of foot to get off the mark at Brighton on Friday.
Fourth on debut last month, the bay finished second next time out and was partnered by Mark Crehan once again in the five and a half furlong maiden. Racing towards the back of the field, he was pushed along from three furlongs out and ran on strongly to lead close home, scoring by half a length on the line.
Owned by Power Geneva Ltd, the son of Holy Roman Emperor becomes the first winner bred by Glenville Bloodstock out of In The Lurch. He continues a fine run for his sire’s juveniles, with Raging (Holy Roman Emperor) having gotten off the mark a day earlier, while the Richard Hannon-trained Dukebox (Holy Roman Emperor) extended his unbeaten record earlier this month.
