Improving Holy Roman Emperor Filly Gains Maiden Win
The John Joseph Murphy owned and trained Fearless Girl (3f Holy Roman Emperor - Girouette, by Pivotal) maintained her upward curve to win Wednesday’s mile maiden at Killarney.
Last seen finishing fifth at the Curragh, the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor was positioned in midfield by Joey Sheridan and made headway to chase the leaders two furlongs from home. Leading approaching the final furlong, she kept on well to hold off Apricot Rose by a neck on the line.
Speaking after the race, John Joseph Murphy said, “She is a lovely filly and is maturing all the time. She has a very nice pedigree, she will keep improving next year and could go down the black-type road.”
Bred by Sunderland Holdings out of Group 3 winner Girouette, Fearless Girl becomes the second maiden winner in as many days by Holy Roman Emperor, following Roman Encounter’s debut success at Beverley on Tuesday.
