Maiden Success Adds To Tremendous Day For Holy Roman Emperor
The Fozzy Stack-trained Piece Of Paradise (2f Holy Roman Emperor - Double Fantasy, by Indian Ridge) showed an excellent attitude when winning the five furlong maiden at Tipperary on Sunday.
Ridden close to the pace by Andrew Slattery, she led after a furlong and was ridden with a furlong and a half left to race. Staying on well when challenged, she beat Lady Penelope by a length, with another three and a half lengths separating them from the third horse.
The winning trainer later commented, "We thought she'd win the first couple of times. Hopefully she can build on this. She might be entered in a Listed race at the Curragh on Friday (Curragh Stakes).”
Bred by Rockfield Farm, Piece Of Paradise is owned by Michael O’Flynn, Mrs John Magnier and Mrs Paul Shanahan. She is a half-sister to recent Listed winner Magical Dreamer and is a grand-daughter of German 1,000 Guineas heroine Dakhla Oasis.
