More Firepower From Starspangledbanner’s Latest Crop Of Juveniles

Firepower (2c Starspangledbanner - Torentosa, by Oasis Dream) became the fourth debut two-year-old winner by his sire when justifying favoritism in the five furlong Novice Stakes at Salisbury on Thursday.

Ridden to track the leaders by Adam Kirby, the Clive Cox-trained bay led entering the final furlong and despite showing signs of inexperience, kept on to score by half a length.

The Mrs Michelle Morgan-owned winner was bought by Emerald Bloodstock as a foal for €165,000 at the Arqana December Sale. Bred by Madame Mise Soledad De Moratalla, Firepower is out of of a black-type half-sister to Epsom Derby hero Wings Of Eagles (Pour Moi).
