New Aussie Stakes-Winner for Holy Roman

Talented mare Sheidel (4m Holy Roman Emperor x Laventour, by Metal Storm) has a tremendous winning strike rate, but had never won a Black Type race until successful in the Listed WATC Jungle Mist Classic at Ascot on Saturday.

Prepared by David Harrison, Sheidel led throughout to win the 1200 metre sprint by half a length as a hot favourite.

Retained to race by her breeder, Sheidel has the imposing record of nine wins and two seconds from 13 starts with prizemoney topping $520,000.

The 51st stakes-winner for Holy Roman Emperor, she is a half-sister to stakes-winner Latoria and is the best of three winners from Laventour, a half-sister by Metal Storm to Group III winner Track Jester.

Also the sire of Caulfield Cup hero Mongolian Khan, Holy Roman Emperor is currently in Australia for Coolmore .
