No Nay Never Filly Oozes Class At Newmarket
Zain Claudette (2f No Nay Never - Claudette, by Speightstown) earned her place in Stakes company when running out a clear winner of Friday’s six furlong fillies maiden at Newmarket.
Ismail Mohammed’s charge suffered a narrow defeat on debut earlier this month and was sent off favourite to go one better under Ray Dawson on Friday. Racing close to the pace, she was travelling best of the field with two furlongs left to race and was pushed along to lead a furlong later. Ridden clear inside the final furlong, she ran on well to win by two lengths and three quarters.
Owned by Saeed H Al Tayer, Zain Claudette was bred by Andriy Milovanov and is a granddaughter of Grade 3 winner Tippity Witch.
