No Nay Never Juvenile Powers Clear
No Nay Nicki (2f No Nay Never - Pure Vanity, by New Approach) could hardly have been more impressive when racing clear to win the six furlong fillies’ maiden at Pontefract on Monday.
Richard Fahey’s charge made a promising debut last month and showed a liking for the firmer ground and extra furlong on her second start. Sent off favourite under Paul Hanagan, she raced in midfield and made headway approaching the two furlong marker. Switched right a furlong later, she soon went clear and won by eight and a half lengths with ease.
Owned by PD Smith Holdings Ltd, No Nay Nicki was bred by Manister House Stud and Grange Stud out of Pure Vanity, whose three-year-old Ego Trip (No Nay Never) finished second on debut in March.
