Oppenheimer newcomer Ardiente another classy Australia
Anthony Oppenheimer’s home-bred Ardiente (2f Australia-Hoyam, by Royal Applause) looked another exciting three-year-old prospect for next season after winning on her debut at Kempton on Friday evening.
In what looked an above average seven-furlong novices’ event, the Ed Vaughan-trained filly stayed on well in the final stages to prevail under Stevie Donohoe.
The Racing Post commented: “ARDIENTE, the first foal of a 5f Listed winner, but with stamina from her sire, she travelled nicely into contention before running on well to deny a rival who'd already shown fair ability. This filly could make up into a smart type.”
Ardiente is the first foal of he five-furlong Listed winner Hoyam, who had been bought for 470,000gns as a breeding prospect at Tattersalls in 2015, carrying Ardiente.
