Progressive Gleneagles Filly Impresses On Return
The promising Electric Blue (3f Gleneagles - Blue Geranium, by Dansili) appeared better than ever on Thursday’s return to action, as she ran out a winning favourite of the five furlong maiden at Chelmsford.
Trained by James Tate for Saeed Manana, she finished third to subsequent Albany Stakes winner Dandalla on debut and went on to be placed on her next three starts. Not seen since October, she seemed none the worse for her absence and made all under Callum Shepperd. Travelling the best of the field approaching the turn for home, she was driven out in the straight to score by two lengths.
Bred by Jane Keir, Electric Blue is a granddaughter of 1,000 Guineas third Super Sleuth and hails from the second crop of top-class miler Gleneagles.
