Progressive Holy Roman Emperor Colt Scores At Ascot
The Charlie Fellowes-trained Atrium (2c Holy Roman Emperor - Hail Shower, by Red Clubs) built on a promising debut to beat a competitive field at Ascot on Saturday.
Third over the same distance of seven furlongs last month, the bay was reunited with Louis Steward at the weekend, and raced in mid-division in the early stages. Improving to chase the leaders from halfway, he produced a challenge two furlong out and kept on well to score by half a length.
“Atrium is very good looking and with a nice pedigree,” Fellowes later commented. “The way he travelled might mean the sales race at the St Leger meeting over six and a half furlongs is a possibility.”
Owned by Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, Atrium was bred by Hunscote Stud.
