Progressive No Nay Never Colt Wins With Ease
The improving Clockers Corner (3g No Nay Never - Starlight Night, by Distant View) ran out an easy winner of Monday’s seven furlong maiden at the Listowel Festival.
Trained by John Oxx for Barbara Keller, the chesnut was last seen finishing third over a mile at Killarney and faced 14 rivals when dropped back in trip. Declan McDonogh rode him to chase the leaders, improving into second over two furlongs out and led a furlong later. Racing clear, he scored by three and a half lengths, relegating the two joint-favourites to placed honours.
Clockers Corner was bred by Swettenham Stud and was bought by Sackville Donald at the Goffs Orby Sale for €115,000. He is a half-brother to 1,000 Guineas Trial third Divine Night (Danehill), out of a half-sister to dual Grade 1 winner Senure.
