Progressive Sioux Nation Filly Takes Group 3 Prize
Sydneyarms Chelsea (2f Sioux Nation - Wedding Dress, by Tamayuz) provided first season sire Sioux Nation with Stakes success when taking the Group 3 Prix Six Perfections at Deauville.
A smart debut winner at Newbury in May, Charlie Hills’ charge finished a fine fifth in the Group 3 Albany Stakes next time out and was ridden by Ryan Moore for the first time on Tuesday. Chasing the leaders early in the seven furlong contest, she was pushed along after the two furlong marker and improved to lead inside the final furlong. Ridden out, the bay scored by three parts of a length.
Speaking after the race, Charlie Hills said, “They went a good pace and Ryan gave her a lovely ride," said Charlie Hills. “There are some lovely races she can go for in the autumn. There’s the Rockfel over this trip and she’ll definitely get a mile as well.”
Owned by Cornthrop Bloodstock and Sydney Arms Chelsea, the progressive filly also holds an entry in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes. Bred by Mark Hanly, Caroline Hanly and M Buckley, she continues an impressive start at stud by top-class two-year-old Sioux Nation.
Sioux Nation’s first runners also include Group 2 performer Matilda Picotte (Sioux Nation), Group 3 runner-up Kinta (Sioux Nation) and Chesham Stakes third Lakota Sioux (Sioux Nation).
