Progressive Winner Continues Fantastic Start By Sioux Nation

Indian Dream (2g Sioux Nation - Cynthia Calhoun, by Exceed And Excel) built on previous promise to lead home a 1-2-3 for Coolmore sires in Thursday’s novice stakes at Epsom.

The Michael Bell-trained bay finished a close second on debut in May and appeared to appreciate more positive tactics on his latest start. Ridden to lead approaching the final furlong, he kept on well to score by two and a quarter lengths, as Saxon Scene (Saxon Warrior) and Tuddenham Mill (Holy Roman Emperor) finished second and third respectively, the the first three drawing clear of the field.

Last year’s running was won by Royal Patronage (Wootton Bassett), who went on to win the Group 3 Acomb Stakes and Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes.

Owned by Mrs Corbani and partner, Indian Dream becomes the first winner bred by Albert Sherwood and Pat Connell out of Cynthia Calhoun. He is the second winner in as many days by first season sire Sioux Nation, with Lakota Blue (Sioux Nation) now aimed at the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes after recording back-to-back wins.
