Promising Saxon Warrior Colt Goes One Better

A step up in trip saw Dunstan (3c Saxon Warrior – My Fairy, by Sea The Stars) gain a well-deserved maiden win at Southwell on Thursday.

The Saxon Warrior colt finished a close second on three occasions last season and returned to fill the same position on his first start for Barry Brennan last month. Stepping up to a mile and a half on Thursday, he raced prominently under Kieran O’Neill and was asked to quicken from three furlongs out. Ridden approaching the final furlong, he asserted close home to beat the favourite Pagliacci (Gleneagles) by a head.

Dunstan was bred by Sunderland Holdings and hails from the second crop of Saxon Warrior.
