Promising Saxon Warrior Juvenile Goes One Better
Arabian Sun (2c Saxon Warrior – Gheedaa, by Tamayuz) built on last month’s promising debut to get off the mark in Tuesday’s six furlong novice stakes at Salisbury.
The Clive Cox-trained colt caught the eye at Goodwood where he finished second to a smart type, despite becoming short of room at a vital stage. Partnered by Richard Kingscote on his second start, he raced prominently and waited for a clear passage two furlongs from home. Ridden inside the final furlong, he ran on well to lead close home and beat the short-priced favourite by half a length.
Owned by Al Mohamediya Racing, Arabian Sun was bred by Ballybin Stud and Patrick Kelly.
