Promising Sioux Nation Filly Beats The Boys On Debut
The future looks bright for Sydneyarms Chelsea (2f Sioux Nation - Wedding Dress, by Tamayuz), after the daughter of Sioux Nation made a winning debut in Tuesday’s maiden at Newbury.
The Charlie Hills-trained bay was the sole filly to line up for the six and a half furlong contest, and raced towards the back of the field under William Buick. Making headway approaching the two furlong marker, she was shaken up a furlong later and led inside the final furlong. She was pushed out to score by three parts of the length, with another length back to the well-bred favourite in third.
Having shown signs of inexperience, there should be plenty more to come from Sydneyarms Chelsea, who may now be aimed at Royal Ascot. Bred by Mark Hanly, Caroline Hanly and M Buckley, she continues an impressive start at stud by Sioux Nation.
