Promising Son Of Sioux Nation Wins Maiden In Style
Go Sioux Me (3g Sioux Nation - Dance Company, by Aussie Rules) built on two promising efforts to win Monday’s seven furlong maiden at Down Royal.
James Nash’s charge finished fourth and third on his two previous starts, with the form having benefitted when one of the winners went on to score at Listed and Group 3 level. Reunited with Ben Coen on Monday, the bay raced prominently throughout and asserted after the two furlong pole. Running on well under pressure, he went on to win by a length and a half from Greek Flower (Australia), who finished over three lengths clear of the third.
“We were very happy with him at home,” James Nash said after the race. “He's still very, very green, so I'm expecting him to improve.”
Nash also trained Go Sioux Me’s brother Hammersmith (No Nay Never) to win as a two-year-old. The useful pair were bred by Mr J Connolly.
