Saxon Warrior Colt Follows Up Maiden Victory
Sunday saw the progressive Saadi (2c Saxon Warrior - Wildrose, by Reliable Man) record back-to-back wins in the Class 2 contest at Angers.
The Henri-Alex Pantall-trained colt won his maiden earlier this month and was sent off the even-money favourite to follow up over the ten furlong trip. Making all under Clement Lecoeuvre, the grey quickened into the straight and was pushed along from two furlongs out. Ridden approaching the final furlong, he ran on strongly to score by three parts of a length, with another three lengths back to the third.
Owned by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Saadi is the first foal bred by Haras De Victot out of Wildrose, who sold carrying Saadi for 110,000gns.
