Saxon Warrior Filly Gains Deserved Maiden Win
Wednesday saw the promising Lan Cinnte (3f Saxon Warrior - Yellowhammer, by Raven’s Pass) justify favouritism in the mile maiden at Limerick.
Jessica Harrington’s representative was narrowly denied on her final juvenile start and finished a promising second on her seasonal return last month. Partnered by Colin Keane at Limerick, she raced prominently throughout and was ridden approaching the final furlong. Leading soon after, she ran on well to score by a length and three quarters.
Speaking after the race, assistant trainer Kate Harrington said, “She’s a lovely filly, and we’ll go one step at a time, but I’d imagine towards the end of the season she’ll work up into a Listed filly or get a bit of black type. She’s a big girl and I think she’ll keep on improving through the year.”
Owned by Mrs Joan Brosnan and bred by Epona Bloodstock, Lan Cinnte hails from the first crop of Saxon Warrior.
