Saxon Warrior Filly Impresses In Naas Maiden
Gan Teorainn (2f Saxon Warrior - Dance Troupe, by Rainbow Quest) built on a promising debut to win Monday’s fillies maiden at Naas in good style.
Second over seven furlongs last month, Jim Bolger’s representative stepped up to a mile on her second start and was ridden prominently by Kevin Manning. Ridden to challenge approaching the final furlong, she ran on well to lead soon after and won by two and a half lengths, going away.
“She did that well,” Manning said after the race. “I think whatever she does as a two-year-old is going to be a bonus, I think she's a real three-year-old in the making. She's a lovely big filly and has a lovely way of going.”
Owned and bred by Ennistown Stud, Gan Teorainn holds entries in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes and Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes. She hails from the first crop of Saxon Warrior, as do dual winner Ser Sed (Saxon Warrior), impressive Leopardstown newcomer Thornbrook (Saxon Warrior) and debut scorer Rage Of Bamby (Saxon Warrior).
