Saxon Warrior Filly Proves A Class Above On Second Start
Local Arms (2f Saxon Warrior - Water Hole, by Oasis Dream) kept on strongly to record an impressive maiden win in the Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Beverley.
The Karl Burke-trained filly caught the eye on debut earlier this month, when finishing well to take fourth, and was sent off joint-favourite on her second start on Wednesday. The bay raced prominently throughout the seven and a half furlong contest and was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong. Keeping on well, she eased clear to win by all of eight lengths under Danny Tudhope.
Owned by the Bronte Collection, Local Arms was bred by Lynn Lodge Stud out of a half-sister to Group 1 winning stayer Technician (Mastercraftsman). She continues a fine run of form for her sire Saxon Warrior, who has enjoyed three Stakes winners so far this month.
