Saxon Warrior Juvenile Records Back-To-Back Wins

Huscal (2c Saxon Warrior – Gravity Queen, by Holy Roman Emperor) took another step forward on Saturday to defy a penalty in the six furlong novice stakes at Thirsk.

The Charlie Hills-trained colt justified favouritism last time out at Ripon and was partnered by Jason Watson on his third start. Racing in touch in a field of 17, he was travelling strongly at halfway, before being pushed along to lead approaching the final furlong. Ridden clear with another rival, he led by half a length on the line, with another two and a half lengths back to the promising Prosperitas (No Nay Never) in third.

Owned by Rosehill Racing, Huscal must be held in high regard as he holds an entry in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes. The Saxon Warrior colt was bred by Dermot Cogan.
