Second Time Lucky For Holy Roman Emperor Colt
The Eve Johnson Houghton-trained Et Tu Brute (2c Holy Roman Emperor - Xinji, by Xaar) displayed a professional attitude when winning Tuesday’s maiden at Chepstow.
The bay seemed unaffected by his less than ideal debut last week, when his saddle slipped, but luck was on his and Charlie Bishop’s side next time out. Racing over six furlongs, the colt was positioned in midfield and was pushed along from two furlongs out. Leading approaching the final furlong, he kept on well to hold off late challenger Solent Gateway by a neck on the line.
Owned by GC Stevens and partner, Et Tu Brute is closely related to Listed performer Chuck Willis.
