Sioux Nation Colt Doubles Up Under A Penalty
Saturday saw Brave Emperor (2c Sioux Nation - Roman Gal, by Holy Roman Emperor) record back-to-back wins when justifying favouritism in the six furlong Novice Stakes at Chelmsford.
Successful over the minimum trip earlier this month, the Archie Watson-trained colt raced more prominently on his third start, chasing the leader under Luke Morris. Ridden from the two furlong marker, he kept on well to lead inside the final furlong and ran on to win by a length and a quarter.
The Middleham Park Racing-owned winner may now step up in class and holds an entry in next month’s Group 2 Railway Stakes. Bred by Caroline Hanly and Sean Ronan, he continues a terrific start made by Sioux Nation’s first crop.
