Sioux Nation Filly Bolts Up On Second Start
Lakota Sioux (2f Sioux Nation - Shemiyla, by Dalakhani) became Sioux Nation’s latest impressive winner when drawing clear of the field in the fillies’ maiden at Lingfield on Monday.
The Charlie and Mark Johnston-trained filly shaped with great promise on debut ten days prior, when beaten just half a length into third at Haydock. Racing over seven furlongs once again on Monday, she was sent off favourite under Jack Mitchell and led after two furlongs. Pushed along two furlongs from home, she was ridden clear approaching the final furlong and ran on well to win by six and a half lengths.
Owned by Gallop Racing, the first crop daughter of Sioux Nation was bred by Fethard Bloodstock.
