Sioux Nation Filly Makes All To Maiden Victory
Wichahpi (2f Sioux Nation - Rhal, by Rahy) showed the benefit of experience when making all to gain her maiden win at Thirsk on Monday.
Racing over six furlongs, the Bryan Smart-trained filly raced alone in the centre of the track under Graham Lee. Clear with two furlongs left to race, she was ridden out inside the final furlong to score by a length and a quarter.
Owned and bred by Crossfields Bloodstock, Wichahpi continues a fine run for Sioux Nation. The previous day saw Matilda Picotte (Sioux Nation) run out an impressive winner of the Group 3 Sceptre Fillies’ Stakes, while on Saturday, Archo Nacho (Sioux Nation) beat some talented rivals in the Listed Poseidon Stakes at Flemington.
