Blackpink (Sioux Nation) Wins On Debut At Dundalk

Sioux Nation Filly Strides Clear On Debut

Blackpink (2f Sioux Nation - Kirk’s Dancer, by Dunkirk) shaped like a smart prospect when running out a commanding winner of Wednesday’s seven furlong maiden at Dundalk.

Jessica Harrington’s newcomer travelled strongly throughout under Shane Foley and improved to lead approaching the final furlong. Ridden soon after, she ran on well to win by three lengths and three quarters.

The winning rider later said that Blackpink would be seen to better effect next year. “Just see the size of her, she's a monster,” he said. “She didn't come to us until midway through the season but she was brought along steadily and was doing the right things at home. She gave me the feel of a nice filly.”

Owned and bred by Eric Koh, Blackpink hails from the second crop of Sioux Nation.
