Sioux Nation Filly Wins Maiden In Smart Fashion

She’s A Warrior (3f Sioux Nation - Skylight, by Acclamation) overcame a slow start to run out a smart winner of the Friday’s fillies’ maiden at Kempton.

The Roger Varian-trained filly showed signs of inexperience when finishing third over course and distance on debut last month and was sent off favourite on her second start. Slowly away under Silvestre de Sousa, she raced towards the back of the field for much of the mile contest and was switched left with two furlongs left to race. She made good headway when ridden approaching the final furlong and improved to lead inside the final 110 yards. She kept on well to beat With Style (No Nay Never) by two lengths.

She’s A Warrior is owned by Victorious Racing, having been bought by Oliver St Lawrence at the Arqana Breeze-Up Sale for €450,000. The promising daughter of Sioux Nation was bred by Patrick Headon.
