Sioux Nation Newcomer Lives Up To Expectations

Kinta (2f Sioux Nation - Qamarain, by Hard Spun) justified strong market support on debut to become the twelfth first crop winner by Sioux Nation.

One of two fillies to take on the colts on Thursday, the 110,000gns breeze-up purchase was sent off favourite for the six furlong novice stakes at Lingfield. Positioned in midfield by Pat Cosgrave, the George Boughey-trained bay was shaken up at the two furlong pole and was pushed along to make headway approaching the final furlong. Running on well to lead close home, she won by a length.

Bred by David Halley, Kinta is owned by Bob and Pauline Scott and was sourced from Eoin McDonagh's Shanaville Stables at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up Sale by James Delahooke, who described the filly as his “pick of the sale.”

Earlier in the day, Wahbat Alrahman (2f Sioux Nation - Paradise Way, by Elusive Quality) became Sioux Nation's eleventh winner in Saudi Arabia. Bred by Boocock Trading Ltd and trained by F. Alabdmonim for Mohammed Saleh M Altaweel, the bay filly dominated a field of 10 with an extraordinary 29-length win on debut (watch below).

They continue a smart start at stud for Sioux Nation, whose impressive debut winner Brave Nation (Sioux Nation) finished fourth in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes earlier in the day, despite suffering interference at a vital stage.
