Coto De Caza (Sioux Nation) Wins At Goodwood

Sioux Nation Shows Talent And Class At Goodwood

Coto De Caza (2f Sioux Nation – Coto, by Fast Company) followed up her impressive maiden success with another smart performance in the Alice Keppel Fillies’ Conditions Stakes at Goodwood.

The €270,000 breeze-up buy was beaten a neck by more experienced rivals on debut and took a step forward next time at Beverley to score by five lengths. She was sent off favourite to follow up under Harry Davies and raced in touch for much of the five-furlong sprint. Improving to lead a furlong from home, she was ridden out to win by two and a half lengths.

“She’s got a lot of talent and a lot of class,” said Simon Crisford, who trains the winner with son Ed. “I don’t think we want to be bringing her back too quickly after this; just give her the time and see how she is, but maybe something like the Flying Childers might suit her.”

The daughter of Sioux Nation is owned by Mohammed Sultan and was bred by Matthew Tynan.
