More six-figure Starspangledbanners
On Tuesday, a Starspangledbanner colt realised €100,000 and his foals continued to be in big demand on day three of the November Sale at Goffs on Wednesday.
Two more colts passed the six-figure mark for the outstanding sire.
First up was a grandson of the G1 1,000 Guineas runner-up Sundrop, who looks likely to be reoffered as a yearling next year after being bought by the O’Callaghan family’s Yeomanstown Stud for €120,000.
That price was passed by a Starspangledbanner colt out of the Lawman mare Welcome Springs bred by Peter Jones and consigned from Betaghstown Stud.
Brendan Holland was the successful buyer but only once bidding had reached €140,000.
