Smart Calyx Colt Records Back-To-Back Wins

Accumulate (2c Calyx - Dazzling Rose, by Raven’s Pass) followed up his recent maiden win with another successful outing at Lingfield on Wednesday.

The Roger Varian-trained colt shaped like a useful prospect when winning a Newmarket maiden last time out, having previously shown promise when second on debut at Ascot. He stepped up to a mile on his third start and was sent off favourite under Jack Mitchell, who rode him in touch with the leaders. Shaken up approaching the two furlong marker, he was ridden to lead a furlong later and kept on well to win by a length and a half.

Accumulate was bought by MV Magnier as a yearling for 170,000gns and is now owned by Coolmore partners. Bred by Emma Capon Bloodstock, the first crop son of Calyx hails from the family of Almanzor (Wootton Bassett).
