Smart Calyx Juvenile Records Second Success
Smart debut winner It Ain’t Two (2f Calyx – Usra, by Requinto) made a successful step up in trip at Carlisle on Thursday to record her second career success.
The Hugo Palmer-trained filly made a fine impression on debut when taking a Class 2 maiden at Newmarket and was sent off favourite for Thursday’s novice stakes over six furlongs. Ridden prominently by David Probert, she made smooth headway to lead from two furlongs out and began to run on well a furlong later. She went on to win by a length, with the front pair finishing seven and a half lengths clear of the third.
Bred by Crypto Bloodsstock, It Ain’t Two is owned by Mss Diamond and Owen Promotions Ltd. She hails from the second crop of Calyx, whose first crop impressed with three Group winners and a Group 1 performer.
