Son Of Holy Roman Emperor Captures Group 3 Feature
Markus Klug-trained Aemilianus (3g Holy Roman Emperor - Assisi, by Galileo) added a Group 3 success to his impressive record when landing the Grosser Preis der Landeshauptstadt Dusseldorf.
Chasing the leaders for much of the feature race, he was asked to quicken from two furlongs out and was switched wide to deliver a strong challenge. Running on well under Andrasch Starke, he denied French raider Cantilena by a neck on the line.
Aemilianus has now won three of his four starts for owner/breeder Gestut Schlenderhan. The son of Holy Roman Emperor is bred on the same cross as Group 1 performer Leitir Mor (Holy Roman Emperor) and Group 2 May Hill Stakes winner Rich Legacy (Holy Roman Emperor).
