Son Of Holy Roman Emperor Delivers On Return
Westmorian (3g Holy Roman Emperor - Inca Trail, by Royal Academy) built on previous promise to gain a deserved win in Friday’s five furlong maiden at Southwell.
The Grant Tuer-trained bay was sent off the even-money favourite as he dropped down to the minimum trip on his first start since June. Ridden to make all by Sam James, he was shaken up approaching the final furlong, before being pushed out to score by a comfortable two lengths.
Owned by Miss Marjorie Thompson, Westmorian had been placed twice previously. The son of Holy Roman Emperor was bred by John Carrington and Richmond Bloodstock.
