Son Of Holy Roman Emperor Gains Deserved Maiden Win

The Michael Bell-trained Vedute (2g Holy Roman Emperor - Quads, by Shamardal) gained a deserved maiden victory when scoring at Bath on Thursday afternoon.

Second on his previous two starts, the bay was sent off favourite for the five and a half furlong contest and raced prominently under Cieran Fallon. Producing a challenge after the two furlong marker, he led a furlong later and kept on well to win by half a length, with another three lengths back to the third horse.

Speaking after the race, the winning jockey said, “Vedute deserved that and had been unlucky the last twice. Experience counts in these races and Mr Bell has placed him well.”

Owned by R.A. Green, Vedute was bought by Richard Frisby as a yearling for £85,000. The son of Holy Roman Emperor was bred by Old Carhue and Graeng Bloodstock out of a half-sister to Sussex Stakes victor Here Comes When (Danehill Dancer).
