Son Of Holy Roman Emperor Records Second Group 2 Success

Numerian (7g Holy Roman Emperor – Delicate Charm, by High Chaparral) took his earnings past the $2.5million mark on Saturday when finishing strongly in the Group 2 Ted Van Heemst Stakes at Ascot.

The Annabel Neashem-trained bay stalked the pace under Clint Johnston-Porter and was impeded by the favourite upon turning for home. After recovering, he ran on strongly to lead close home and beat last year’s winner Marocchino by a length.

Saturday marked a second Group 2 win for Numerian since joining Neasham, for whom he has also finished second in the Group 1 Doomben Cup and Group 1 Australian Cup. Owned by Teme Valley Racing, he previously won a Listed raced and was multiple Group-placed for Joseph O’Brien in his native Ireland.

Bred by Whisperview Trading, Numerian is a full-brother to the Group-placed Montesilvano (Holy Roman Emperor).
