Son Of Saxon Warrior Draws Clear To Maiden Victory

Godwinson (3g Saxon Warrior - Malabar, by Raven’s Pass) took a step forward from his promising debut to run out an impressive winner of Thursday’s nine furlong maiden at Hamilton.

William Haggas’s charge kept on well into third in a similar contest earlier this month and was sent off favourite to build on that on Thursday. Settled in midfield by Paul Mulrennan, he began to make headway from three furlongs out and led before the two furlong marker. Pushed along approaching the final furlong, he drew clear to win by four lengths and three quarters.

The first crop son of Saxon Warrior is owned by breeders Jon and Julia Aisbitt.
