Son Of Saxon Warrior Outclasses Rivals
Irregular Warfare (2c Saxon Warrior - Artistic Jewel, by Excellent Art) proved a class above his rivals in Monday’s seven furlong maiden at Wolverhampton.
Trained by Roger Varian for HH Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the son of Saxon Warrior finished a promising second on debut in September and was sent off favourite on his second start. The chesnut made all under David Egan and was shaken up at the two furlong marker, before being pushed clear inside the final furlong. Eased down close home, he led by five lengths on the line.
Irregular Warfare was sold by breeder Haras De Bourgeauville as a yearling to Oliver St Lawrence for €370,000. He continues an impressive start at stud by Saxon Warrior, who celebrated his first top-flight winner at the weekend when Victoria Road took the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.
